Performance test report
1991Selected for performance test at the Zwolle after-keuring.
A generously developed stallion that could be more riding type and could have more refinement. The stance in the lower limbs is correct.
Performance Ermelo 1991
Uncomplicated, friendly, honest and obedient with good humor. He was saddle broke at the start of the test. During the first few weeks he was rather tense. There was a positive change during the test and he became more elastic. The walk was irregular, especially when he is trying to get on the bit. The trot is short, has little elasticity and is narrow in front. The canter is regular and is sufficient in scope but he should be lighter on his feet. He has very much scope in jumping, a good take-off and he is careful. He works well in cross-country. He gives a rather stiff feeling in dressage and a very good feeling in jumping. He finds the work easy and he has much willingness to work. He has moderate talent for dressage and very much talent for jumping. He was in good condition when he arrived and remained that way.
His stall behavior is excellent.

Offspring 1993 (foals)The foals by this Belgian bred stallion were well developed. They also are good riding type. The head is a little long but it does have expression. The neck is shaped well. The wither has sufficient length but sometimes should have more slope. The back is a little long and goes into well-muscled loins. The croup has good length; sometimes it is a little flat. The foreleg has good stance; the hindleg is almost always long and angled. On the whole the base should have more substance. The walk is sufficient. The foals trot easily and have suppleness, good posture and good use of the hindleg. The selected foals showed more refinement, were less sickle-hocked but moved a little less convincingly. The quality of the mares was normal or average.
In short: well developed, good riding type foals that trot with good posture and suppleness.
