Performance test report
ConformationA well-developed model with a nice neck. The stallion has sufficient expression, is wide and deep. The build of the hindleg could be stronger.
Performance Ermelo 1985
Steady, friendly with good humor. Obedient and honest. He was still green at the start of the test. At the start of the daily work he was stiff and behind the bit. After loosening up he has much tact and balance in his movements and is fun to ride. The walk is big and strong. The trot is very regular and good balance. He has a nice canter that is strong and carried. He does not want to put much effort into jumping under saddle. He has passable leg technique but he should bascule more. The bascule is also insufficient while free jumping but once in a while he has a good jump. He does well in cross-country. He is more than sufficiently will to work and he finds it easy. He has much talent for cross-country, rather much talent for dressage and more than sufficient talent for jumping. He was in good condition upon arrival. He muscled up more during the test. He eats normally and is calm in his stall. It is difficult to put the headstall on him.
During a big part of April he was bothered by a cough and was treated for it.

Offspring report
Offspring 1987 (foals)All the foals were developed well. The type amongst the picked foals was moderate, though a distinction must be made. The foals out of mares that carried blood appeared to be more riding type, though in those cases the base was often fine with less developed joints. The selected foals generally were a little better in type that the picked; the last group was more than sufficient on that point. The head is generally good and often expressive; the head of the picked foals could sometimes be a little plain. The shape and length of the neck are good but it is carried too high and this influences the entire movement pattern. The wither was generally moderately to insufficiently developed in the groups of picked foals and the later groups were a little better. The shoulder is straight and often short. The back is generally deep with otherwise sufficiently connected loins. The croup is short and often flat; if the mares have a good croup shape the offspring were also better. The gaskin was practically always poorly muscled. The foreleg is rather straight and sometimes toed out. The development of the knee varied. In some cases there was a broken foot axis. The hindleg is long and angled with often and sharp transition into the cannon. The hocks could more often than not be deeper and wider. The walk is short, especially in the group of picked foals where there was also a tendency to be lateral. During the walk the hock was often stiff and the movement cam from the hip. Some foals showed a sufficiently good trot but otherwise there was moderate use of the hindleg and limited freedom of the shoulder.
The committee made the decision to maintain the stallion"s approval in spite of the above-mentioned drawbacks and to wait until the offspring grow up based on his own performance in sport, which was also the reason for appointing the stallion in the framework of the dressage stimulation plan.
In short: A varied collection of foals in regards to type, that carried their neck high and that varied from good to moderate in movement.
Shown: 36 foals out of 182 breedings.
Term of approval 1995
The stallion action, available through frozen semen, will be approved for a term of 3 years. He is successful in the higher levels of dressage. His dressage index is 152 (84%).
Offspring 1999 (11-year olds)
Aktion is permanently approved on the basis of his 11-year old offspring report.
Keur 1999
After an excellent performance test Aktion developed into an international Grand Prix dressage horse with exceptional qualities for the musical Kür under the Hungarian rider Guyla Dallos. Last year the 17 year old Aktion presented himself with verve at the stallion show. Even though the stallion made decidedly less effort in concentrating on breeding this last year, he was still in 33rd place on the recent BCM rankings, making him one of the horses that put the KWPN in third place. Aktion has been in the upper regions for the dressage index for years and also has high reliability. With his present index of 183 points and the high reliability of 81%, Aktion is again nestled in the top of the older dressage sires. In the male line the blood of Aktion is carried on through the stallion Nexxus (Wallstreet x Aktion). He is represented at Grand Prix level in sport by Berkenhorst Galliano, P.Atlantis, Finesse and Feliki, at the light tour level by Geraldo and Houbigant and at ZZ level by Fyrain, Fansjellie, Glorina, Gustafson, Hurricane, Herero and Halla Utopia. Out of his first three years at stud, Aktion produced more than 50 Z-level dressage horses. Looking at offspring keuring results shows us that a total 17 mares received the keur predicate, 49 the ster predicate and 3 the preferent predicate. Some of the points of interest in his conformation heritability are the vertical direction of the neck, the development of the shoulder and the often somewhat flat croup. In a positive manner the scope and power of the trot stand out.
