Performance Ermelo 2001

Rubels is an honest, reliable stallion. He is very willing to work and he works very well. The walk is pure, very big, active and moves well through the body. The trot has more than sufficient scope. The stallion shows more than sufficient self carriage. In the working trot the foreleg stays a little flat. Rubels uses the hindleg actively. The stallion closes very well and then displays good use of the foreleg. He has more than sufficient scope at the canter. He has much self carriage, much suppleness, a hindleg that comes underneath well and very much balance. He closes well. He shows much talent for the more difficult dressage exercises. Rubels has a great deal of talent for dressage and gives his rider a very good feeling. As a jumper Rubels shows sufficient take off. He has good leg technique and has quick reflexes. His bascule varies from moderate to sufficient. He seems to have sufficient scope.

Rubels sucks air. His stall and handling behavior are normal.

1998

NRPS approval Ermelo; 3rd championship keuring.

Rubels is a son of the NRPS acknowledged Rafürstinels. This son of dressage sire Rubinstein I and out of a daughter of the Oldenburg stallion Almeo (s Almé-Z) is very successful at the moment on the international light tour with Anne van Olst. Amongst other things, she and Rafürstinels rode a very attractive musical Kür during one of the blocks of entertainment at the Central Stallion Show. The dam of the gray Rubels is the star mare Klarinettels, a Z-level dressage horse by Amethist. Further back in the dam line we find the influential Ramiro through the mare Dasanette.

Rubels has a nice type with hard legs. The topline needs to develop more muscling. The walk is good. The trot is imposing in such a way that the stallion keuring committee invited the stallion to the championship keuring. Rubels showed a good technique with very quick reflexes and a nicely opening hindquarter during the free jumping.

The height of this 2.5 year old stallion is 161.0 cm.

Pedigree information 2001

Rubels took 3rd place in the Pavo Cup as a 4-year old. He combines the dressage genes of Rubinstein I with jumping blood of stallions such as Almé, Furioso II, Gotthard, Nimmerdor, G Ramiro-Z and Joost.

Rubels was previously approved by the NRPS. He is a son of Rafürstinels who performs at Grand Prix level and who was selected for the NRPS performance test in 2001. During the Pavo Cup he knew how to attract the interest of the audience. He was also able to score at the stallion competition. He has much self carriage, notable use of the foreleg and very much suppleness and determination.

Type 2001

Rubels is a sufficiently developed riding-type stallion that stands in sufficient rectangular model. The topline is slightly sunken and the hindleg is a little sickle hocked. The foreleg should be a little longer.

Rubels showed a collection of more than sufficiently developed foals that stand in sufficient to good rectangular model, that are moderate to more than sufficient riding type and that vary in appeal.
The head is shaped sufficiently and it is sufficiently expressive. The poll has good length. The neck has sufficient length and more than sufficient shape but is sometimes deep from the chest. The wither has sufficient length and should be more developed. The shoulder has sufficient length and sufficient position, in a few cases it is a little straight. The back is generally a little weak. The loins are well connected. The croup should be longer, has sufficient shape and sufficient muscling. The hamstring should be longer. The foreleg varies in length, has correct stance and frequently has a straight pastern. The hindleg is long and sickle hocked. The base varies in circumference and quality.
The walk ranges from sufficient to good in scope. The trot has suppleness, more than sufficient impulsion and scope, good self carriage and nice leg technique. The canter should have more self carriage, impulsion and scope.
There were 15 picked foals and none that were selected by the owner.
The quality of the mares varied.
