Conformation description 2004 (29-09 t/m 12-11)
Ustinov is a more than sufficiently developed, more than sufficient riding type stallion that stands in good rectangular model. The stallion has an appealing front. The midsection is hollow. Ustinov has a tail insert. The hindleg is slightly sickle hocked. The base is correct.

Pedigree information
Ustinov is the full brother to Nijinski and was the jumping type champion at the 2004 Stallion Show in Den Bosch. Dam Haifa became known throughout the country as the reserve champion of the keur mares at the UTV. The exquisite Nimmerdor daughter is a full sister to the stallion Glendale and carries the valuable Marco Polo blood in her veins. Ustinov's sire Libero-H is one of the superstars of jumping. With Jos Lansink he won the 1994 world cup in Den Bosch. Over the last few years Libero-H has developed as a jumper sire. He produces top horses, especially when combined with Nimmerdor daughters.

Performance
Ustinov is a playful, trustworthy stallion. He is very willing to work and he works more than sufficiently.
The walk has sufficient scope but the length of the stride can vary. The trot has sufficient scope but lacks some power and tact. The stallion carries himself only moderately at the trot. The canter is big, has suppleness and also much balance. The impulsion is good. Ustinov can do good canter changes. The stallion has moderate talent for dressage and gives his rider a moderate feeling.
The stallion jumps with much take-off and he is quick. The foreleg folds well. He shows much use of the body and bascules well. The stallion seems careful. Jumping is easy for him and he shows much to very much scope. Ustinov has much to very much talent for jumping and gives his rider a good feeling.
Stall behavior: Honest, trustworthy, somewhat disrespectful stallion that is nice to work with and easy to handle.
Veterinary report: Ustinov previously participated in the spring test but was referred on to the fall test because of veterinary reasons. At first the stallion showed limited movement in the left hindleg. Through special exercise this complaint disappeared sufficiently.

Offspring report

At the 2015 KWPN Stallion Show in 's-Hertogenbosch, Ustinov was awarded the keur predicate. Ustinov is by the World Cup winner Libero H out of the Nimmerdor mare Haifa, a full-sister to the KWPN stallion Glendale. Ustinov was bred by the late Gert van der Veen, a former KWPN head inspector. Van der Veen bred other successful Libero H offspring, including the ster mare Maifa and the KWPN-approved stallion Nijinski. Under Caroline Muller, Ustinov competed successfully at the 1.50m level. Several of the stallion's oldest offspring are currently excelling at this level, including Anatevka (ds.Pierrot) with Sweden's Petronella Anderson and Barichello (ds.Legaat) with Italy's Philippo Baldini. Cor Loeffen, Chairman of the Stallion Selection Committee: “Ustinov participated in the first stallion selection in which both a dressage- and a jumper champion were chosen, when specialization was first implemented. Ustinov won the championship and therefore made history as the first jumper champion. His sire is Libero H, who was very important to Van der Veen. Although Libero H didn't fully meet the conformational standards of the Stallion Selection Committee at that time, Gert looked past their evaluation and saw the stallion's talent for the sport.” Ustinov was presented at his award ceremony under saddle, accompanied by his son Dustin (ds.Gran Corrado), who is currently excelling in the 1.35m under Michel Hendrix. Ustinov is also an outstanding breeding stallion: more than 80% of his offspring presented for inspection earned the ster predicate, and more than half of these qualified for the keur- and elite predicate. Ustinov passes on a good trot, an excellent canter, and very good jumping talent. His breeding value is 152 with 91% reliability. Ustinov's ability to pass on his conformation and jumping talent is also well above average, the scores for which are 111 and 113 respectively.
