28 jumper stallions on the last regular day of the first round viewing
The third day of the jumper stallions at the first round viewing, powered by AJ Bedrijfsdiensten, has also proven to be successful. Today, 28 stallions received an invitation to the KWPN Stallion Show.
After three days of selection, the provisional total stands at 76 (nearly) three-year-old jumper stallions for the second round viewing, with two older stallions still in the race.
First Crops
After Emerald van 't Ruytershof already had two sons selected yesterday, today five more sons of this top sire joined the collection for the second round viewing. From the first crop, New Pleasure VDL and Mr. Cornet de Regor each had two sons selected for the next round. Additionally, two sons of the recently sold Lambada Shake AG to Cian O’Connor were selected, as well as two sons of Cero Blue TN, who was approved last year. A son of Sambucci de Muze, selected before approval, was also included today. “It is always good to give sons from young sires a chance, and we are curious to see how they develop towards Den Bosch. Earlier this week, a son from the first crop of Newmarket VM was selected, and today we also selected a son of Next In Line,” says senior inspector Henk Dirksen on behalf of the stallion selection committee.
Positive Outlook
In total, the stallion selection committee assessed 53 stallions today. “It went well today, and the stallions were generally well assessed. Due to an administrative error at the office, it was incorrectly stated that two stallions had incomplete vaccinations, which caused some confusion, but fortunately, everything turned out to be fine, and both stallions were assessed. On the hard surface, the committee had to make some remarks regarding the foundation and conformation, but in contrast, we have been able to select a number of very interesting and complete stallions for Den Bosch. Including the two older stallions, the total now stands at 78, and we expect an additional ten to fifteen stallions during the after inspection. So, the collection for Den Bosch might still expand. The committee is in a positive mood and looks forward with confidence to the second round viewing, where the overall picture of each stallion will be reviewed again: conformation, health, free-jumping performance, and pedigree. The last factor was only considered positively in this first round viewing,” says Henk Dirksen. The after inspection is scheduled for Monday, December 23, starting at 08:00 with the jumper stallions.
