Preview: Versatile saturday as the highlight of KWPN Stallion Show
The final day of the KWPN Stallion Show promises to be a packed day featuring dressage, harness horse, and Gelderse stallions. It offers a diverse program, ensuring a day full of clinics, shows, and, of course, breeding. All breeding directions are covered on this day, with the live auction of the KWPN Select Sale dressage returning to the schedule, and enthusiasts can explore and shop in the straw village.
Focusing on breeding aspects, the morning showcases the last dressage stallions before the stallion selection committee, consisting of chairman Bart Bax, Wouter Plaizier, and Johan Hamminga. In the afternoon, the presentation of the selected stallions and the awarding of the dressage stallions follow.
The Future of Dressage
Previously announced clinics taking place in the main arena on this day feature the newly appointed national coach Patrick van der Meer. He will reveal to the public his vision for Dutch dressage, featuring KWPN stallions Kyton, Las Vegas, Livius, Lowlands, In Style, and Kjento.
Adelinde Cornelissen vs. Harness Horses
Under the guidance of Olympic rider Adelinde Cornelissen, several harness horses successful in dressage will showcase their talents, including influencer Esra de Ruiter. Cornelissen notes, "Perhaps the harness horses will demonstrate more technique for piaffe and passage than most people think. And we will show that in this demonstration."
Enjoying Gelder horses
Gelder horse enthusiasts should not miss the final day of the KWPN Stallion Show. Gelder stallions will enter the arena for their performance, followed by the presentation of the selected Gelder stallions and the awarding. Additionally, Gelder stallions approved in 2023 and those participating in the KWPN Stallion Competition Gelder Horse will present themselves.
KWPN Select Sale
After three years, the KWPN Select Sale returns to the KWPN Stallion Show. This high-profile KWPN auction will present a high-quality collection, and auctioneer Frederik de Backer will seek new owners for these top talents. Online and phone bidding options are also available alongside live bidding.
Oregon Trophy
Following the KWPN Select Sale, the spotlight turns to harness horse stallions. The program kicks off with the first inspection of the four-year-olds in harness and the second inspection of harness horse stallions. Later in the day, the selected harness horse stallions will be announced, and the awarding ceremony will take place. In between, the audience will be treated to fantastic shows and the presentation of harness horse stallions approved in 2023. The spectacular Oregon Trophy concludes the harness horse section of this wonderful day. One thing is certain: as a lover of equestrian sports and breeding, you cannot afford to miss the KWPN Stallion Show.
The KWPN Stallion Show is gearing up again. The world's largest stallion inspection will take place from January 31 to February 3 in Den Bosch. Ticket sales have already started, and KWPN members naturally receive a discount for the KWPN Stallion Show. It promises to be four fantastic days once again.
