Gelder stallion Abrilon receives KWPN recognition
The Gelder horse stallion selection committee has nominated the black 16-year-old Gelder stallion Abrilon for KWPN recognition. Abrilon is a son of black Monarch son Ahoy. He was bred by F.J.M. Beursken from Didam, who is still the owner and stands him stud. The stallion has competed on Z-dressage level.
Abrilon’s dam is the keur preferent mare Narona, a daughter of Galant. Narona received 82 points for her Gelder driving IBOP, even getting nines for the tacking up (where the character is evaluated) and posture. Granddam Irona is a keur preferent performance mare by Elegant. She also accomplished an excellent IBOP with nines for walk, temperament, and character with a total score of 93 points. Great-granddam Barona is a keur mare by Satelliet, after which this dam line full of predicates continues with the keur preferent mare Verona, UTV champion and Gelder Horse of the Year in 1998. Verona is a daughter of Irak out of the Simon Bolivar daughter Freuline. The dam line continues with daughters of L'Invasion and Graaf van Wittenstein.
The Gelder approved half-brothers Casaron (by Ginus) and WV Saron (by Creool) also come from this line. Abrilon meets the radiological requirements of the KWPN. The stallion is not a carrier of the WFFS gene. The height is 1.67 m.
