Performance test report
Conformation description 2003 (13-03 t/m 02-04)Paganini is a well-developed, sufficient riding type stallion that is in good rectangular model. The neck is long and is carried well, it is well muscled but a little deep from the chest. The stallion has a good wither/shoulder formation. The croup is long and well muscled. The foreleg should be longer and he is a little over at the knee.
Pedigree information
His dam Bea comes from the French stallion Statuar, just like grandfather Clavecimbel.
Bea produced 12 offspring (8 colts and 4 fillies) of which one was a stallion selected for the performance test.
Natasja produced the national jumper Al Capone (s Pastrocio xx).
Istra produced the Z-jumper Bruidegom (s Lector) and the Z2-dressage horse Cupido (s Lector); she is the great grandmother of the Z-jumper Lucky Lady (s Hurricane).
Performance
Paganini is reliable stallion that is willing to work.
The walk is pure and powerful but the foreleg should be moved out more and should have more suppleness. The trot is powerful with more than sufficient use of the hindleg. The stallion carries himself more than sufficiently but should be lighter on his feet. He should have more suppleness in all three gaits. The canter has sufficient scope and he closes well. The impulsion is good. Paganini has talent for the more difficult work. He finds the work normal. The stallion has more than sufficient talent for dressage and gives his rider a more than sufficient feeling.
Paganini jumps with sufficient take-off. The stallion has moderate bascule and holds himself behind. He has limited scope and he lands heavily. Paganini has moderate talent for jumping and gives his rider a moderate feeling.
The stallion"s behavior in his stall and while being handled is normal.
No veterinary remarks.
Was not accepted into the studbook after the short test.
Was approved for KWPN breeding after the re-keuring. The re-keuring committee acknowledges the fact that the stallion should be more supple but the approval of Paganini was motivated by the reason that the stallion has talent for the more difficult dressage exercises, has power in the hindleg and has made a name for himself among his contemporaries in competition.

Offspring report
Offspring 2004 (foals)Paganini showed well developed foals. The foals are sufficient to more than sufficient riding type.
The head is sufficiently expressive. The poll has sufficient length. The neck is long with vertical position. Several foals are ewe-necked. The wither is more than sufficiently developed. The shoulder is sometimes a bit straight. The back is more than sufficient in length and sometimes hollow. The loins are shaped and connected well. The croup slopes and should generally be longer. The hamstring should be longer. The foreleg has good length but is frequently straight. A few foals are toed out. The stance of the hindleg varies. The base varies in development and is of sufficient quality.
The walk is pure and is sufficient in scope. The hindleg should be brought further under the body and should bend more. The foals should have more freedom in the shoulder. The neck is vertical in the trot. The foals jump easily into the canter but should have more scope. The Paganini foals that were shown should have more suppleness in movement.
In short: A uniform group of richly developed, sufficient to more than sufficient riding type foals. The hindleg should be brought further underneath the body. The foals should move with more scope and suppleness.
Of the foals shown, nine were picked and three that were selected by the owner. One sick foal was evaluated in the stall and not in movement. One foal that was inspected at home deviated in a positive sense from the above report. The foals that were selected by the owner fit in with the above report.
The quality of the mares varied.
Shown: 12 (+1) foals out of 26 mares bred in 2003.
Terminology used in scoring:
Moderate = five, sufficient = six, more than sufficient = seven, good = 8.
